Ian

I was born in Recife, Brazil in 1983 (~30 years old).I was abandoned by my birth parents and lived in an orphanage until I was about 16 months old. I have never met them. I was then adopted by two Americans Robert and Charlene and made a fully naturalized US citizen and came to live with them in Minneapolis, Minnesota USA.

When I was 10 years old my (adopted) father packed up all of his things and left my (adopted) mother and sister Rena. After this I started acting out and being a difficult kid to handle. From this point on I didn’t have nor did I want any structure in my life. I wanted to do, see and experience everything regardless of the consequences. I dove deep into drugs at as teenager.

At 15 both had parent were finished with my shenanigans and gave me the ultimatum of follow our rules or I can find another place to live, I chose the latter. I then moved to Orlando, Florida based on a gut feeling of needing to get as far way as I could from my so called family. I lived in Florida for about a year working and getting off drugs and one day got the feeling I needed to go back to Minnesota to live, so I did with three days notice. Moving back to MN prove to be bad for my recovery as I started hanging out with old friends and slipping back in to the darkness of drugs. One day I woke up and wanted to change my life, so I did. I sat down with my father and asked for his help to move back to FL and go to college. He was less than eager to assist but in the end he took me down there, toured my school and gave me the stamp of approval. Several months later I was back in FL and starting college.

I graduated in 2003 with an AA in Audio Recording and Production. This was one of the first things in my life that I actually finished, aside from getting my black belt in karate at 18 and graduating high school. I then stayed in FL for a total of 6.5 years, working and recording local bands. After gaining the experience I needed to start a studio I decided to move back home and open my company StudioZeroSeven llc. The studio didn’t survive the recession and I had to close its doors about 2 years after opening

Met a girl, married her, divorced her, met another girl, wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, she felt I was not good enough for her and moved on.

So that brings me to today! I am living on a friends couch saving money to move to Recife Brazil next year. I have never been so scared. I want to learn everything I can about the country I was born in and about who I am as a person.

So please read as I share all of my journeys, pictures, videos, audio and stories about this amazing adventure.
